*Rick Bonney continues to inspire and support science-driven participatory science projects following his retirement from a decades-long career at the Cornell Lab of Ornithology (CLO). In his role at CLO, Rick founded numerous efforts that continue to engage members of the public in scientific research and learning, and (among many other things) leveraged his expertise to launch what is now the Association for Advancing Participatory Sciences. His writing and research forms the foundation for the global citizen science movement, and the ideas informing the design of success projects.
