Make your mark on AAPS Conferences!

We are actively seeking volunteers to join the CAPS 2027 Program Planning Committee. Like much of this field, AAPS conferences are supported by volunteer committee members who shape both the vision and design of our events as well as provide critical support for submission review and program curation.

The Committee meets twice monthly to discuss event themes, structures, and opportunities for innovations in how we conference. Taking an active role in the conference program committee can help you:

  • Make your mark on the field’s leading event. Conference volunteers have been integral in establishing structures to efficiently plan and implement virtual and in-person events, and making diversity, equity and inclusion a central focus of our conference events.
  • Become intimately familiar with the people and ideas shaping the field. Committee members actively review hundreds of submissions representing the different facets of the field of participatory sciences to curate a program that offers value to people from many different backgrounds in this field.
  • Gain targeted opportunities to flex your leadership skills. And gain visibility for yourself and institution. A great opportunity for people in the early stages of building a participatory science career looking to make connections.
  • Get behind the scenes access, and discounts. Conference volunteers get unique opportunities to connect with featured speakers and AAPS leaders, as well as free or reduced registration.

Volunteer roles are flexible with an average monthly commitment of 2-6 hours and opportunities to contribute can be matched to your interests and availability.
