The CAPS Program Committee invites submissions for organized sessions that advance a proposed topic of importance in the field. Proposing an organized session is your opportunity to shape discussion around issues you care about, build collaborations, and showcase your leadership in the field.
AAPS conferences bring together all of the people and perspectives needed for projects to thrive. That includes academics from all disciplines, community leaders, data managers, tech designers, librarians, and all who are part of project teams. Session conveners play an important role in creating meaningful event experiences where this multifaceted community can learn from one another.
Organized sessions are opportunities to get together with the people you know, you want to know, or who are across fields and don’t know each other but you think they should. Session topics, formats, and goals can vary greatly and will attract different segments of the conference audience. We welcome submissions from across disciplines, roles, and career stages that reflect the priorities of different approaches to this work–creative ideas are welcome and encouraged!

NOTE: This call is for Organized Sessions only, which includes a variety of formats: symposia, workshops, and collaborative sessions. The call for individual presentations will be released later this fall. Convening an organized session is an opportunity to curate experiences for groups of people at the conference. If you are primarily looking to share your own research findings, emerging work, or lessons learned, an individual presentation may be a better fit.
