In 2016, the CSA made the decision to move CitSci2017 from its planned location in Raleigh, North Carolina to Minneapolis, Minnesota. The move (which left the CSA with financial obligations to hold CitSci2019 in Raleigh), North Carolina was done after carefully considering the conflict presented by North Carolina's bathroom bill to the CSA's core values-- values of inclusivity, respect, and openness to all people regardless of race, ethnicity, class, age, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, accessibility needs, or country of origin. The call for abstracts for individual presentations, lightning talks, and posters for CitSci2019 has been extended until 5 October 2018. For more details, please see the official Call for Individual Presentations. In addition, two new presentations strands are now open for submissions, both via our host institution, the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. These are for Project Slam presentations during the opening reception, and for Citizen Science Festival exhibits during the all-day public event on Saturday. In case you missed it, the call for workshops is currently open - AND, the submission due date has been extended until August 17th! Workshops were well-received in the 2017 conference and made up an important part of the conference’s programming.  Many workshops were fully booked in the 2017 conference and many attendees had favorable reviews of the workshops and remarked that they would have attended even more of them if they weren’t run in parallel.  In other words, the 2017 CSA conference had great workshops in the program because of the workshop organizers and participants.
